FLORES ROTAS


"Flores Rotas" (Broken flowers) was an oil painting project that withered over time. It was a tribute to classical portraiture and still lifes. With this series of works, I wanted to reflect on what flowers mean in our society, their value and the role they play in our relationships. To close this cycle, I have gathered in these 194 pages all the work, along with the photos I was taking during the process. This limited, signed and exclusive edition* also includes some reflections, photos of my workshop and of the exhibitions where some were lucky enough to see the work live. Made with a lot of love, I hope you like it and that, somehow, it will bloom in your vases forever.

LAS MOSCAS


 (The Flies) is the first book auto produced in a series of three by painter Carla Fuentes and designed by Jara Van Herpt, that answers the long asked questions originating from Carla's work: Why flies?
Indeed the common fly or fly related objets regularly feature in her work. If only as a fly on the wall, in a obscure back corner of a dark room. But it is a detail not unnoticed by the people that follow her work and a mystery which this book explores. Looking back over the last 3 years, thought collected text messages, illustrations, social media interactions and of course her paintings. Las Moscas explores the relationship between Carla Fuentes and the common misunderstood fly.
